This is the first of a new series of Assuria Technical notes, hints and tips. May I suggest that you file these for future reference.

Licence Key aggregation

ISS System Scanner (and Assuria Auditor) with ISS KeyLib6 support key aggregation. Support for KeyLib6 was introduced with XPU

The licence keys should be placed in the Console's "Keys" directory.

The key as supplied by ISS/Assuria will be a file named "ISS_nnnnnnnn_key.isslicence.xml" this file should be renamed

"ISS_nnnnnnnn_key.isslicence" that is the file extension ".xml" should be removed.

Multiple keys can be held in the Console’s “keys” directory.

The key(s) can be viewed via 'Maintenance' -> 'View Licence details' in the System Scanner console.

This feature will make key management much easier for both Partners and Customers.

Chapter 3: Installing the Software

Installing a License Key File

Introduction	After you install the console software, you will require a valid licence key. This can be obtained from Assuria or ISS. You should copy your iss.key file to the ‘keys’ directory in the Console’s files. The console allows the use of a single, local agent without a valid key file.
Procedure	To install a key: 1. Copy the key to the Consoles ‘keys’ directory.. 2. The key as supplied by ISS/Assuria will be a file named "ISS_nnnnnnnn_key.isslicence.xml" this file should be renamed "ISS_nnnnnnnn_key.isslicence" that is the file extension ".xml" should be removed 3. Multiple licence key files may be held in the ‘keys’ directory.
Backing up your key file	In addition to installing your key file(s) in the console ‘keys’ directory, It is recommended that you make a backup copy of your key file. Store the backup copy in a secure location. This makes it easy to replace the key file if required.
Viewing your license key	To view your license key: On the Console Maintenance menu, select View License Details. System Scanner displays the contents of your ISS keys.
