Assuria Auditor AutoUpdate #81

Introduction

Assuria Auditor AutoUpdate #81 is a content update and continues the roll out of inventory baseline across platforms.

The update is compatible with, and suitable for application to all Assuria Auditor agents.

Inventory Baseline Changes

A change has been made to the key of the Inventory Baseline for Network Interface Cards (NICs).

The original key was the device node which worked on UNIX but could cause problems on Windows if an Agent server had multiple identical network cards installed. The key data is now the MAC address of the network cards.

Therefore if you have an Inventory Baseline already for any server in the list below then you will need to update the Inventory Baseline to align the saved baseline data with the new key data.

For the supported Windows platforms an addition to the Inventory Baseline has been made to monitor the connection of USB storage devices e.g. memory sticks and external hard drives.

This completes the rollout of the inventory baselines to all currently supported platforms. 

HPUX PA-RISC 1.1 compatibility

A binary compatibility issue with the Agent daemon has been resolved for HPUX 11 agents running on older PA-RISC 1.1 servers.

Novell SUSE Enterprise Linux 10 (x86) start scripts

The installation and removal scripts for the Agent were using run levels 0 and 2 instead of 3 and 5.

This update will fix the configure and template files.

Once AU81 has been applied, Configure.sh can be re-run to correct the links for the UNIX run levels.

Additional Windows p2p checks

Additional peer to peer file sharing checks have been written for the Windows platforms.

These new checks will detect the presence of p2p software and shared directories for the following:

• Aimini

• BearShare

• Imesh

• Shazeara
