Assuria Auditor agent for IBM AIX 6.1 released

Introduction

Assuria is pleased to announce the Generally Available release of an agent for IBM’s AIX 6.1.

This Agent is release tested to Level 1 Support (for definition see

http://www.assuria.com/platform-support-levels.htm) on AIX 6.1 platforms.

The agent is in the format used by the native AIX ‘BFF installp’ package control mechanism.

Assuria Auditor Console

At a minimum, the agent requires the controlling Assuria Auditor Console to be updated to AutoUpdate level 75.

For full compatibility, with all check texts loaded onto the console's database, and policy navigator coverage, the console should be updated to AutoUpdate level 78. This console update is scheduled to be available at the end of April 2008.

The agent can be downloaded from the Products menu entry at AssuriaOnline  (https://www.assuriaonline.com/assuriaonline) in the normal manner.

Installation instructions

1  Install the BFF package:

            uncompress assuria_auditor_agent_aix6p_au75.bff.tar.Z

            tar -xvf assuria_auditor_agent_aix6p_au75.bff.tar

            installp -d assuria_auditor_agent_aix6p_au75.bff Assuria_Auditor

            (This will install the agent in /opt/sysscan.)

2          Configure the agent:

                cd /opt/sysscan

               ./Configure.sh

The configuration procedure follows that described in the Assuria Auditor Installation Guide - Section C: Installing System Scanner Unix Agents / Installing a System Scanner Unix 4.x Agent / Procedure: Configuring the agent.
