HP-UX 11.x (PA-RISC) agent release

Introduction

Assuria is pleased to announce the availability of a new Assuria Auditor agent for HP-UX 11.x (PA-RISC) systems including consolidated AutoUpdates up to AU#67.

The new agent will be functionally identical to an existing HP-UX 11 agent with AutoUpdates to update #69 applied¹.  The agent includes OpenSSL 9.8D.

New Installations

The Assuria Auditor Agent 11.x (PA-RISC) agent is intended for new installations on HP HP-UX (PA-RISC) systems.  There are no new functionality features in the agent release.

The new Assuria Auditor agent includes all AutoUpdates up to an including AU#67 installed.

Agent Upgrades

This new HP-UX agent installation package should not be used to upgrade existing Assuria Auditor HP-UX 11 agent installations.

Upgraded SSL Version

The version of OpenSSL used in the new Agent communications has been upgraded to 9.8d which is not subject to the possibility of race conditions. These race conditions could, in rare cases occur in a clustered HPUX environment, cause the Assuria Auditor agent to appear to go into a hibernation state requiring a re-start of the agent.  The new agent with OpenSSL 9.8D is not subject to this problem.

Assuria AutoUpdate #69 will include an updated daemon and AU#69 will include instructions for applying this to existing HP-UX 11i Agent installations.

Platform supported

The Assuria Auditor HP-UX 11.x agent has been tested on PA-RISC systems running HP-UX 11i V1 and V2

Assuria is currently testing an agent on HP-UX 11i V3 (11.31)

¹ Assuria AutoUpdate #69 is scheduled for release at the end of October 2007.
