48 Release Information
|
Introduction
|
This Assuria Bulletin announces the availability of XPU 48, which
introduces new features to Assuria Auditor.
This XPU is fully
compatible with the Assuria Auditor and ISS System Scanner range of
products, and is managed by the Assuria Auditor Console (formerly ISS
System Scanner Console).
|
Transition to Assuria
|
Assuria Limited has licensed the System Scanner technology from ISS and
now provides globally all customer support and sales of System Scanner
technology.
Assuria and ISS have been working closely together on a 12 - 18 month
program to seamlessly transition ISS System Scanner customers to Assuria
and Assuria Auditor.
XPU
48 introduces the first feature that is a result of the transition
program. Assuria will be generating Licence keys for customers in the
near future and this XPU 48 introduces support for Assuria generated
keys in addition to keys generated by Assuria or ISS using the ISS
system. |

New or Renamed Agent Notification – Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 agents |
Some customers often add new, or rename existing agents on their
network. This new feature adds functionality so that when a new or
renamed agent is detected the Agent component of the security tree in
the Assuria Auditor Console is now highlighted.
To
configure an agent select Maintenance, New and Renamed agents from the
Assuria Auditor Console ‘Maintenance’ menu.
Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 agents now report to the console if the
host is renamed.
|
|
XPU Integrity |
This new Policy allows security administrators to ensure that all
updates have been applied to their Windows 2000 and 2003 agents

report.
To
use this new Policy:
1.
Deploy XPU 48 to Windows 2000 and Windows 2003 agents
